Perrin Antonopoulos is a Greek film composer from North Carolina. He got his start in high school in a music production class, where he quickly started composing and producing his own music in the classroom and at home.
After coming to University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2025, he struck up a friendship with Director Jack Engel, who had him score his short film The Muse. The debut film score launched his school career, where he started working on student projects, resulting in the composition for the award-winning film Core Memory (2025) at the UNCSA Ambrosia film festival. He also worked as co-composer on Award winning film Blue Girl (2026), the “best student film” winner at the OUT at the movies film festival. His other film composing contributions include EGOMANIACS (2026) In the Meatballs of Madness (2026), Mom’s Homemade Cake (2026), as well as The Production Assistant (2026).
His film scores often lean on the smaller end of ensembles, where their smaller size lend themselves to his personal style of more intimate and memorable moments in lieu of a larger sound. His compositions span a large variety of genres, covering orchestral pieces, jazz inspired scores, TV-style music, to improv-esque guitar.
When not working on student films, he composes ensemble works for musicians in and out of the UNCSA school system, experimenting with melody and dissonance with his works. His pieces focus on romantic style writing, with focus on tonality and satisfying progressions, with recent steps into the contemporary side of music while still maintaining his own style. His debut piano piece Poignant Thoughts (2026) was recorded by pianist Dmitri Shteinberg.
Perrin is currently in his second year of undergrad for music composition at UNCSA, studying under accomplished composer Dr. Lawrence Dillon in Winston-Salem, and collaborating with filmmakers.
